A Techtite Weekly Feature"Voice Acting Workshop: Solty Rei" (Youtube video, posted last year) click picture for the link to the video! As of 2008, the weekly page this site referred to as "The BIG Picture" is now the Snapshot of the week. Oddly enough, this is to allow for both photos and videos (or any other media link) that was relevant to this site's most recent news stories. In this case, allow this site's creator to offer an interesting Youtibe video he found, in relation to the recent release of the complete series, Solty Rei, now on DVD. It's a testament to Solty Rei's popularity through word-of-mouth, that there are so many Youtube videos in relation to it. Searching "Solty Rei" on Youtibe leads to no less than 76 unique videos, ranging from fan made music videos to favorite moments and of course the toe-tapping opening theme song. Cool. This video is something someone took at a voice acting workshop held by Christopher Sabat, who among other things was the voice of bounty hunter Roy Ravant in Solty Rei. Here he offers some insights towards voicing a key fight scene from the series. Don't worry; nothing is spoiled here if you never saw the series and are worried about seeing a key moment from the story. It's just a professional voice actor with a room of voice actor hopefuls, having some fun. Personally I love that this is the first video link for this new column. Solty Rei was one of the most enjoyable DVD experiences I've had in a long time. It may very well be this site's choice for DVD series of the year. Of course, as the premiere "Snapshot of the Week," clicking on the "back" button will take you back to this weekly column's original look, as "The BIG Picture." What do you feel about the newly upgraded page? Feel free to send comments regarding the new look of this column, the videos/"snapshots" offered, or anything else you feel like talking about, via Techtite.com's Letters page.
