Techtite.com'sThe BIG Picture!A Techtite Weekly FeatureThe latest "Big Picture" is: "Half Life 2, Episode One: The City Streets" (Half Life 2 E1, 2006; 1024x768) click picture for the full-size (BIG) photo So if you clicked over to hear you probably did so either from the Big Picture of the Week link via the main menu, or the review; both of which were updated this week. I just thought that this scene from Half Life 2: Episode 1 was too cool to not capture and share. It may be a bit somber, but if you want to make a game about rebel humans' survival after a major battle, this is the scene to put in your game. It's just...perfect. Note the alien attack ship still walking and looking for prey near the right-middle of the photo (which is of course clearer in the Big Picture than above). Then there's the wacky scientist on the view screen at right, which frankly must be one whale of a strong TV screen if it survived whatever destroyed everything else in sight. It's still a very effective scene, though; don't get me wrong there. One minute you're struggling for survival in the dark underground, only to see the first light of the surface and see...this. Get ready to kick major butt against the forces that caused all this to happen. The only bad news: as of this photo's posting, Episode 2's release is nearly half a year away. Yikes!
