Techtite Feature Article! |
------------- About this page: ------------- "The BIG Picture" was one of the first "weekly" features updated at Techtite dot com. Starting sometime in 2003, a weekly photo of at least 800x600 in size was offered, of one of the most definitive entertainment products that week, good OR bad. Since 2003, of course, computers have become stronger, viral videos are all the rage, so what was once The BIG Picture is now simply the "snapshot of the week," with a link to my favorite video, demo, or perhaps, high-resolution photo of the week. For anyone curious, however, here is an encapsulation of some of the site's "BIG picture" favorites from some years back...

Techtite.com'sThe BIG Picture!A Techtite Weekly FeatureThe "Big Picture" for September, 2007 is: "It's Over, Baby...Hold Me!" (Halo, 2001, 1024x768 image) click picture for the link to the larger photo! Ironic, that the last "BIG Picture" was actually one of the first. As of September, 2007, it's clear that high resolution photos are not as big of a deal as they were when THE BIG PICTURE was first offered. Viral videos from Youtibe and the like are now what's "happenin'," and as such, The Big Picture will be overhauled to be a weekly link to whatever was the most interesting new media of the week, whether that was a photo, a screen capture of a game, or yes, a video. In short, may I present to you: the last "BIG Picture" ever. Aww...! The picture was a salute to the release of Halo 3, via one of the most sought after moments of Halo 1: specifically, a montage of the extended "legendary" ending. As the nuclear reactor you activated begins to explode, one last pair of warriors are still fighting. One happens to be the Colonel seen throughout the game; nice to see he's still alive and well...if not for long. He and his opponent stop fighting long enough to see the beginning of the command ship's nuclear meltdown. The Colonel then turns to his ex-opponent and says, "It's over baby...hold me!" and they hug in a shot that is not as poignant as it is darkly humorous. So, is it worth it to fight past "Legendary mode" to see this ending? That's up to you to decide, though consider: you don't have to fight throughout Legendary mode to see it. Just start a "Legendary" game beginning in the final chapter, and you'll see this ending just the same. Enjoy...
