Introduction... What are Golden Ottos? See the Golden Otto Awards' Main Page, to read the whole back story! This was a worthy year, for many Golden Ottos, wasn't it...?Not that it was easy to pass out such honors, unlike other awards shows you see on TV. Sure, I could go on cruise control and give awards for films that, on the most part, also went on cruise control. I could give an award to a documentary based solely on the fact that it whined the loudest. I could nominate a movie as "best picture" based only on the fact that somebody dies at the end. However, I think you'll find these are the awards that needed to be given, not the ones that are "politically correct" or "acceptable" in modern pop culture. Have I peaked your curiosity enough? Good: let's move on...
