Video Games:

Which game won Game of the Year? Check the PC Games Awards (though if you played it you know which one it really is).

Best Video Game, Overall: Psychonauts. This sounds like a dark horse winner, doesn't it? Well if it does you never played it, and you really should. Sure there are the games with bigger publicity. Psychonauts was the game that overall, was the biggest game in imagination, story, humor, game play, and overall fun.

The graphics alone are like something out of your favorite Tim Burton movie, mixed with some really colorful visuals. Our hero in this movie enters dreams, you see, and while some say they only dream in black and white; these dreams are downright psychedelic. What's more; eventually you're helping the people whose minds you enter. That was an interesting plot development.

Yet what we really loved about Psychonauts was the originality and, even more, the story. The jokes were hilarious. Every character is unique. Most importantly; unlike almost every other game this year, you cannot mistake "soldier one" with "soldier two" because every single character model is different. That was no easy task, but when it comes to games of the year, that's exactly what it takes. Well done, Lucasarts...!

The Honorable Mentions:

LEGO Star Wars, which may have been childish to some, but that's their problem, because it just plain rocked!

Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones...but it's a shame that all the possible "unlockables" were already offered in the prior two games.

Lumines (PSP) One of the best puzzle games since Tetris.

We (heart) Katamari (Playstation 2) a deserved sequel to a very fun game.

The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, which was almost as good as Spider-Man 2's video game, only you are The Hulk...and can ransack the whole city...!

Best "Exclusive" Game, Playstation 2: Soul Calibur 3. Has anybody successfully unlocked "every" extra this game had to offer yet...?

Best "Exclusive" Game, X-Box: Half-Life 2. Okay; not exclusive if you have a PC, but it's the only system that has it as a video game, and seriously; how cool was it to play Half-Life 2 on a big TV screen?

Best "Exclusive" Game, Game Cube: Resident Evil 4. Okay; maybe not totally, totally exclusive, but any game this M-for-Mature on the Game Cube is cool to us.

Best Exclusive Game, PSP: Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. Winning by a nose over Lumines, this Auto just shocked everyone with a total "city" to explore on one little UMD-sized portable game.

Best Exclusive Game, Nintendo DS: Nintendogs. Maybe Nintendo could've put all breeds on one cartridge and maybe not. It's still a cool "game" no matter which version you personally bought.

Best Movie Tie-In: Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. The game proper was as amusing as always, but check it out: the game was released over a week earlier than the film, and it included seventeen full minutes of footage from the actual movie? That is so very cool!

Game's "Woman of the Year": Farah, Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones. She's back and she may not know what the heck is going on with all the time rewinding going on in this trilogy, but she's still Farah and she's as cute as ever.

Game's "Man of the Year": "The Hero," Condemned. If you love thrillers you need to get this cult hit on the X-Box 360. Your character in this game is so well developed you just have to root for him and keep playing until the very end.

Best New Character of the Year: Anya, F.E.A.R. Well, okay; that's from computer gaming. She was still the best villain of the year though. Let's just jump to the PC section for more on this...
