------------- Sidebar : ------------- Ode to the Pissed Fanboy: It's actually pretty common for a top ten list to include a "debatable" choice for number 10. After all; while naming #1 or #2 on a worst list is pretty easy, what about the just-made-it candidates, at number 9 or 10? That said: it isn't like Roslin is the worst character of all time. However; in the opinion of those of us here at Techtite.com; she's the tenth worst. Sorry.

The Top Ten WORST Characters That Ever Happened to Great Sci-Fi.The List begins with: "President" Laura Roslin(Yes, From Battlestar Galactica, Sci-Fi Channel, 2003-present) A Quote To Be Remembered By:  Let
me shoot one
predictable fanboy retort in the bud: I'm not saying a woman cannot be
president. That's ridiculous. What I am
saying is that:
man or woman, the idea of a person 43rd in line to the
presidency being a "perfect" president is ridiculous. So why act like
this makes sense? To deliver an inane, reverse- sexist pig cliché; that's
why. Didn't you know? Any woman off the street would
make a great president! Yee-hah! Girls rule!
Boys drool! Yeah, sure they do, dear. Whatever.This would not be annoying by itself. After all: every commercial these days seems to have a brilliant woman in a business suit, and a man in his underpants acting like a jackass. No; what makes Roslin so annoying is how her decisions are portrayed to be "flawless" and "perfect," even when she makes the most asinine decisions this side of electing Hitler. Torturing prisoners, and then giving them a fair trial. Trying to abort a baby against the mother's wishes, only to later kidnap the baby and tell the mother it was stillborn. Why? Because that baby's mom is a Cylon, and that means that baby is going to be trouble. "Trouble" how, dear? Will she torture prisoners without fair trials or something? In fact; one may even ask what "President" Roslin's function is, aside from being "Little Miss Perfect Imperious Leader." Well, if you asked us; President Roslin's sole function seems to be: to grind all suspense to a screeching halt. Each episode has Admiral Adama go to Roslin before battle, and ask: Mommy...may I? There's many reactions to seeing Adama's natty chats with Roslin. "Exciting" is not one of them. On to Worst Character #9: "Racist"...?
