"Who can forget a guy in a really bad bigfoot costume 'punching' Steve Austin in slow-motion, with cheesy sound effects played in the background?"

His Episode Earned a 9.4 Out Of 10? Well, yeah, though to date that's an average of only 18 votes. Maybe if everyone who ever saw it voted the rating would be lower, though the point I was trying to make is: many people thought the episode was cool, cheesy or not.

The Worst Robots of all Time!

<<<(back to title page)

The List begins with:

"Bionic Bigfoot"

(The Six Million Dollar Man, episode #52, Feb 1st, 1976)

No, it really didn't look "better" than this photo makes it look! When it comes to any top ten "worst" list, the #10 spot should always be the character you love to hate. That's bionic bigfoot to a capital "B." Sure, he was a cheesy character concept, though to be fair, he was also a major staple of  classic 1970's TV. Who can forget a guy in a really bad bigfoot costume "punching" Steve Austin in slow-motion, with cheesy sound effects played in the background?

Modern audiences may wonder one question: why? During the mid-70's, believe it or not: there was a lot of "bigfoot" hysteria. Fans of this series wondered: what would happen if Steve Austin battled Bigfoot? So they wound up writing an episode called, quite simply, "The Secret of Bigfoot." The catch; Bigfoot was from outer space...and bionic! The result is one of the most memorable battles on 1970's television...though yeah, the episode was unintentionally funny, and frankly, it's a bit painful to watch, by modern standards.

Plastic, shmastic; this sold for over $150 on eBay last week.Did Bionic Bigfoot have his fans? Well, "The Secret of Bigfoot" currently has a rating of 9.4 out of 10 over at TV.com, so yeah, I'd say he has his fans. Too bad my mom wasn't one of them. While I had just about every Six Million Dollar Man toy ever made, mum wouldn't buy Bionic Bogfoot. To her, the toy looked like good for nothing hard plastic...and, aside from the huge numbers this toy gets on eBay these days; she was right. Bionic Bigfoot just wasn't that awe inspiring, as either a toy, or a TV character. The series he guest starred in hasn't even been released on DVD yet. If you ask me, that's because of how silly the series became, as early as the third season. Two guesses which season introduced the Bionic Bigfoot.

Accept Worst Robot #9. Resistance is Futile.
