About These Letters:: All letters will be responded to, either online here, via e-mail, or both. It doesn't matter whether you fill in the handy-dandy boxes on the offered form, or send a personal e-mail. However, in my experience, people are either more fond of one or the other method, so both letters options are offered here. Why no "snail mail" address offered? Because while junk e-mail is easy enough to delete, junk mail itself is a pain. It's a shame that I need to refrain from any publicly posted snail-mail address at risk of being put on endless mailing lists for unsolicited mail, though that's usually what happens. Sorry. ----------------- Feel free to contribute. As always, review submissions are accepted! ------------------ |

Here's the top of the e-mailbag for: Fall, 2004
A Father of the Pride Fan Speaks. Father of the Pride is a great show. The first one was not the best, not even that good, but if you based your opinions on only show 1, then that's stupid. If you didn't, I don't see how it got a so called "burnout" rating...
The review was, sadly, not just based on the pilot. I admit I skimmed through some of the last episodes, though this is pretty much a full-series review. Sorry if you disagree with it, though.
What Went Wrong With Millionaire? I have a suggestion for your "What Went Wrong?" column. I think "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" would be a great subject to discuss since it went from the number one show in television to cancelled in less than three years. Matt Thiel, Indiana I agree. We'll get to it as soon as we can but we're short on manpower here. It'll be given the What Went Wrong treatment soon enough though.
An eBay Auction Notice Someone Sent Us... I've been asked to sell Fred Gwynne's elephant skin boots. He wore them in the movie Disorganized crime. If you or a fan of Fred's would like to bid on them, you can find them at www.ebay.com Item number: 3844207712.
Sadly, this page's latest update of the letters page came after we could post your auction review, which is now closed. Then again, anyone interested in these boots can check out the boots you attempted to auction off, as many as three months afterwards, by going to ebay's main page and typing in the item number you provided. Maybe you can either get contacted by someone interested in buying them, or with enough feedback, you can always re-post the auction. Good luck. Sorry I couldn't help more.
Assault Mode in UT2004...or 1999? Just wondering if you have played the original UT (UT99)? In your review of [Unreal Tournament 2004] you go on about assault being new etc - Assault isn't a new game type but a repeat missed out in 2003. try playing the original - its often considered better for gameplay (obviously not for graphics though).
Here's an err on our part that is a whole lotta "oops." In our defense: all the promos for the game talk of "New Assault and Onslaught modes," but we're (cough, cough) professionals here, and should've investigated this more. Not only that; we did play Unreal Tournament back in 1999, and we even reviewed it. Yet memories of "Assault mode" didn't come to mind. In fact; they still don't. Maybe these revised modes just feel "better" somehow. Anyway; the error has been revised. Thanks for the heads up.
FAKK 2 Lives!...or at least its fans do Heavy Metal FAKK 2 is a great game! If you could please send me pictures [sexy pictures] and videos if you could I will be ever so grateful, please...
FAKK 2 is admittedly one of the most graphically stunning Tomb Raider clones I've ever played; a fact driven home by the fact that the heroine is an almost exact likeness of model Julie Strain. In fact; some fans of the game still make skins and mods for the game to this very day; the largest of which being Gith's Skin FAKKtory, still online as of this page's upload (Fall 2004).
They Don't Make Disney Souvenirs Like They Used To. The Disney Haunted Mansion Puzzle box you pictured...is it for sale ? I have been looking for one. Please let me know.
They don't make Disneyland souvenirs like they used to, do they? That Disney's Haunted Mansion Secret Panel Chest (its full title, in case you ever wanted to "Google" it) is a rare find; too rare to part with...sorry! On the other hand; it is indeed a highly sought after item and its appearance on eBay is not rare. When your letter was first received in the last week of August, an eBay search revealed two auctions that week alone. The following week had an additional auction as well. Just keep looking. Hope you can win one in the next auction!
The O.C.'s First Season... I very much enjoyed the review of the first season of "The O.C.". It quite akin to my views, especially regarding the abomination of a character that is/was Oliver - ew! I do, however, find it strange that you made no point regarding the constant and overbearing plot lines involving Ryan and Teresa. I thought this was something which went on for far too long, and it felt as though the writers had nothing left for Marissa and Ryan other than an early ruin. Otherwise a very good, albeit, brief rundown of the first season of "The O.C.".
Thanks! I'm glad you liked the review so much. I agree that the Teresa plots seemed to take up an awful lot of time near the end of the season; I don't know why that never came to mind when writing the review. Maybe just remembering how annoying Oliver was distracted me from thinking of anything else!
