About These Letters:: All letters will be responded to, either online here, via e-mail, or both. It doesn't matter whether you fill in the handy-dandy boxes on the offered form, or send a personal e-mail. However, in my experience, people are either more fond of one or the other method, so both letters options are offered here. Why no "snail mail" address offered? Because while junk e-mail is easy enough to delete, junk mail itself is a pain. It's a shame that I need to refrain from any publicly posted snail-mail address at risk of being put on endless mailing lists for unsolicited mail, though that's usually what happens. Sorry. ----------------- Feel free to contribute. As always, review submissions are accepted! ------------------ |

The Commercial Sucks...But Who Plays The Wife? On the H & R block commercial I was wondering if you knew who the wife was? I know I have seen her before but I can't remember where please let me know if you can. Thank You Ryan, Sandusky My sources tell me that the actress is Judith Hoag. I did further research and after looking at her "Other Works" page at the IMDb, the actress photo seems to match. I'd have to make a side by side comparison to make sure, though I'd say it was her. Speaking of that commercial; I don't know if H&R Block made a good or a bad choice keeping this ad on the air. On the one hand nobody can stop talking about it! On the other hand nobody seems very keen on joining H&R Block if their ad is so annoying. Even TV Guide.com calls it "The Worst Commercial on TV," with added gripes from other sites here and here. Whoever plays the wife in that commercial had better choose a better commercial next time!
Heroes to Zeroes I'm wondering if you're intending to review Heroes, specifically the recent (second) season. Even the people in charge of the show are admitting the season made mistakes. Yet fans seem on the fence about it. Some are saying the series was always good and just setting the stage for later episodes. Other fans say the whole season sucked. I wasn't a fan of the first half of the season though the first Kristen Bell episode made up for it. They should've limited the so called stage setting to maybe one episode and then jump straight to the Elle (Bell) story. Maybe I'm just biased though! Chuck, California I like stage setting, though I admit there is a limit. There's this review I remember for Star Wars: The Phantom Menace where someone said they went too far back in the story. Did we really need to see Darth Vader as a little boy? NO. We didn't need to see most of the first half of this season, either. We didn't need to see Peter slooooowly make friends with characters we'd never see again after three episodes. We didn't need to see Hiro slooooowly confront the soon-to-be arch villain of the season in the past. That whole story could've easily been told in two episodes, tops. Most useless addition this season: the "Blunder Twins" (aka; the black-teared girl and her soon-to-be-proven-worthless brother). This duo offered no emotional resonance whatsoever. All that being said: the series has offered good episodes ever since the first Bell episode. As I type this; the finale has yet to be seen, though the story seems to be running at a good pace...finally. Let's hope the next season learns from this season's (initial?) mistakes.
