The My Two Bits editorial for September, 2005 is titled :

No News Is Good News...

-------------------------------------------------------------------

As Techtite.com slowly passes its sixth anniversary since its inception, there is always the desire to make a few changes. While some may be considered good and some may be rather "bad," they're all worthy of this month's editorial, to explain most of them.

In case nobody really noticed; the Techtite News page has gone. For the unaware, it was an attempt at a weekly news column that, with all due humility, was a mere Cliffs Notes version of superior news pages elsewhere. Fans liked it that way; a nifty summary of all the major entertainment news. However; to update this one page took time and effort from all other departments, to the point that not even "Big Picture of the Week" was weekly anymore. When you don't even have the time to update a photo, something is awry. The end result is a regrettable finale to the Techtite News column. If major news emanates, however, feature stories and editorials will surface.

Other changes are hodgepodge. Techtite Letters has been revamped on two fronts. For one, you may note that some letters have been deleted. Some letters, as we reread them, sound less like constructive criticism and more like trolling. I guess it's the surest sign of naïveté as a relatively new web site, that we answered some of the most apparently "emotional" letters we received, only to look at it again and smell "troll." Such trolling letters have been deleted from the letters pages, simply because we don't want to promote such letters here. Speaking of which; while cleaning house, we saw that some letters were of reviews that have been deleted because the item is nno longer for sale, and/or the review has been updated due to a "special edition" DVD upgrade, or what-not. It's not that we favor some letters over others. It's just some more cleaning up that needed to be done.

Overall, the big push this time of the year is television. A new season has come up and it includes what to us appears to be at least 20 new intriguing TV series. We'll be reviewing them all soon enough. Mind you, we have to concentrate on our bread and butter first, so reviews of products you can actually buy will be posted first. At least a dozen new games have come out in just the past week, and we've yet to review them.

Overall, it's just a matter of some early fall restructuring, that everyone we've consulted feels is a change for the better. Not that we don't invite feedback. If you want this or that changed let us know. If you came to this site late, only to check out the Techtite News Archives and think, "Hey; that was pretty cool," let us know. For now it's just a matter of improving the site, as far as we can see it. Enjoy.

As Always: I'm Techtite, and these are My Two Bits...
