Battle Chess
(Interplay, 1988)
An almost-entry in Techtite's list of Top 50 Multimedia
Classics, this gave chess fans what they always wanted :
an animated chess set where the pieces duked it out for each
space, instead of just "disappearing," or merely removed
from the board. While the concept was already shown in films
like Futureworld, Interplay was the first to deliver
the goods as an actual, playable game, and they did an
excellent job. It even led to a few (not as good) sequels.
