Chessmaster
(Spectrum Holobyte)
A chess series re-done ad nauseum, Holobyte merely upgrades
the Chessmaster series each year, with the latest
graphics, and the latest expert chess maneuvers and play styles.
This one-two punch had a major kick to it when first released,
although it's beginning to show its sign of age. Better 3D acceleration,
better sound, better multiplayer internet options, and on and
on are just a few of the hurdles keeping the series from what
it once was. Even its original version had one flaw to it: playing
an actual chess game with a friend, in person, is far
more fun.
