Man Enough

(Tsunami, 1993)

Every once in a while, a game is so beyond bad, I come close to making a rating worse than "burnout." With or without one, I'd rate this game "Hideous, Firey Death, Lawsuit Waiting to Happen" Burnout! The "story" involves your goofus doofus friend (played by, I suspect, the head game designer in a cameo) who dares you to be half as "cool" as lil' ol' him. He refers you to the Man Enough Dating Service; your goal is to impress four separate dates, so the "coolest" girl will see fit to date you (big whoop). These dates were shown via mere slide show pics (!) of the model/actress smiling or frowning, based on your conversation choices. The problem with these "conversations" was, no sooner would you make the right reply choice, then you'd allegedly make the wrong one, leading to her being mad, then elated, then mad again. After half an hour of this, you wish David Letterman was present, to tell these girls to split the Prozac in half. By game's end, the head of the company will indeed date you, and yet...not! See, (heh heh) it was all a joke made by your goofus "friend," so by the finale, all the girls just laugh at you and go off to his house for some drinks (har har). What a stupid game! Hey, girls, you want the punchline of this (hee-hee) little joke? Tsunami software --the short-lived copycats of Sierra Online games-- weren't making many more games after this one, and the company's no longer in business! HaHaHaHaHaaaa!
