Tetris

(Spectrum Holobyte)
One of the games to breathe new life into computer brain teasers,
this was conceived by a russian game deisgner named Alexey Pajitnov.
The simple premise is to take various sets of four squares and
place them appropriately into a small space. The problem is that
the pieces just keep on coming. The only way you can make a row
of the squares "disappear" is to have all spaces of
that row filled, left to right. This isn't as easy as you'd think.
The real challenge, if up to it, was a "Tetris"...four
rows made to disappear simultaneously, for bonus points galore.
This was a popular game for the home and office crowd alike,
and spawned many spin-offs. A classic, and one of my choices
for the 50 best!
