The Wizard and the Princess

(Sierra On-Line, 1980, Apple][e)

Although released on IBM PCs in 1982, this was originally released on the Apple //e in late 1980, soon after Mystery House. The concept was to continue the new genre of graphic adventures made by M.House, only with high res, color graphics instead of just black and white. The resulting game, much like M.House, is one of the first such games, though also quite dated. The resulting picture of the princess you save is unintentionally funny; not exactly Cinderella, and more like a stick figure in an alleged "gown." In truth, I never played this game until 1985 or so, when it was included free with the first releases of King's Quest 2. As a free game, it wasn't that bad...

Rating : Small Crater.
