Star Trek : Judgment Rites

(Interplay, 1995)
A sequel
to the smash hit 25th Anniversary Star Trek adventure, this game
put you in additional missions set during the timeline of the
original series (these pretend to be the untold missions of the
fourth season, if there was one). Meanwhile, an even bigger plotline
unfolds in between missions, involving a master race which may
or may not be trying to help you. This game was ported to Macintosh
(bravo!), and was upgraded to CD-ROM form as well, with voice
acting by all the original cast. The best edition for Trekkies,
however, would have to be the collector's edition, with an additional
CD that had an exclusive video of the late Gene Roddenberry.
Both Gene and Trekkies alike are probably quite proud of this
game; one of the last, great 2D adventure games. For this Trekkie,
it's even on my list of Top
50 Multimedia Classics.
