EntoMorph: Plague of the Darkfall

(SSI, 1995)

This was an RPG that seemed to be on the back shelves of software stores, before it even got a chance to sell. That was probably due to a lackluster ad campaign for yet-another-SSI RPG, although it also had a few added mistakes going against it. For one, the gamer can only play as one character, not the typical "teams" of characters most RPG fans are used to. In addition, it is quite a linear story, and is more Adventure than RPG in many ways. However, these mistakes are forgivable, if just because the story is quite amusing; a plague has overcome the land, making everyone into various types of bugs...including the hero of the game himself! As the game progresses, you begin to use your newfound insect powers, as well as your regular human skills, to try to defeat this plague, and make everyone human again. It might not have been the best RPG game available, then or now, though it was still fun...

Rating : Small Crater.
