Realms of the Haunting
(Gremlin Interactive/Interplay, 1997)
This was an amusing spin of the typical shoot-everything Doom clone, with an undertone of
adventure game and "interactive movie" as well. The
story involved a haunted house containing an evil that must be
stopped by --you guessed it-- you and you alone. Cutscenes that
played after major battles continued the ongoing story, which
actually was quite good. The ending was merely so-so, yet acceptable.
After so many typical, rubber-stamp, "same thing as always"
Doom clones, this game was a unique concept.
