Sin
(Activision/Ritual Entertainment, 1998)
One of many action games to license the Quake 2 game engine, this involved
a typical macho, gun-toting soldier/cop, as he fights the forces
of an evil female genius, named Alexis Sinclaire. Her company,
"Sin," is up to no good, and it's up to you to stop
them! Game maps were intriguing, including a realistic, action-savvy
effect on the environment; glass shatters, computers crack apart,
and so on. An Unreal-type
gameplay element means that innocent civilians are often present,
and you must protect them while defeating the machine-gun-toting
villains nearby. Game maps are intriguing, including an action-savvy
motorbike race up a hill during a lava flood: run for your life!
Security cameras, time bombs, and a stealth mission enhances
the adventure elements of the single-player game. Sure, this
game's overdone publicity trump card was the cartoonishly buxom
Alexis, who is animated so well her assets (ahem) have a tendency
to bounce. However, it was a trump card that did (or will)
pay off; after all, Miss Sinclaire is set to star in a direct-to-DVD
movie, based on this game!
